Painting bay window tiles. Canted bay windows with a straight front and angled sides became a particularly fashionable and popular characteristic of middle class victorian houses and villas. You could use floor door step paint a lot of people use floor paint on these sills thin down as before for first coats at a proper paint shop you can have the floor paint tinted to any shade of the original base you like some of the colours are way to bright especially the terracotta colour and need toning down. Use painter s tape in combination with a drop cloth or plastic sheeting to protect nearby surfaces from errant paint. Hi i m looking to paint our bay window tiles could you tell me what kind of prep work is needed and what kind of paint you used to do this.
If they are a moulded baked type tile they will be impervious to water and will require an exterior tile paint. If they are a moulded concrete type tile they will be porous and will require masonary paint. The bay windows usually had their own roof made of tiles or lead. I am looking to replace faded cracked tiles shingles on my bay window and hoping to match these with colour of porch and roof tiles which are the same.
These original bay windows are usually found in reception rooms most commonly at the front of the house.
